Lauren Blanchard

Raised in New England, Lauren studied at Wesleyan University in Connecticut. She then spent 27 months as a Peace Corps health educator in Ivory Coast before earning her Master’s in Nursing at Boston’s MGH-IHP.

During 20 years as a Family Nurse Practitioner in Albuquerque and Oakland, she has been noted for her approachable and culturally resonant practice style. She strives to help patients understand and feel at home in their bodies. As an FNP at Stanford Family Medicine in Oakland, she felt confidence that even when referring patients for procedures that were unfamiliar or awkward, she would hear only positive feedback when her patients returned from EBCDH.  Lauren joined EBCDH in 2020, and loves the practice even more from the inside.

Outside of clinic, Lauren enjoys creative pursuits, reading, and outdoor athletics with her partner.  She also runs Chez Laure, a guest house for travelling nurses who share her love of dogs.

Areas of Interest: Lauren offers the full range of general gastroenterology care and is particularly interested in pelvic floor disorders and the gut microbiome.  She plans to develop an anal screening program in the coming year or two.
